Uncharted Koreatown
From Uncharted to On-Charted: A Vision for Inclusive Mapping
Mapping Korean Presence in San Francisco—Together
Though deeply rooted in San Francisco’s history, the Korean American community remains largely invisible on the city’s cultural and physical maps. From the first Korean diplomatic mission in the late 1800s to today’s artists, chefs, and educators, Korean Americans have shaped the city’s story in quiet yet powerful ways. Uncharted Koreatown aims to make that presence visible—through accessible maps, shared memories, and local creativity.
